I’m asked a lot of questions as a personal trainer, both from clients and not clients. Some of the questions I get are “When is the right time to get personal training?” and “Will it be worth it?” As a trainer, I am a little biased. I believe everyone, at some point in their fitness journey, will need some kind of outside training. In short, you only know what you know and to break through sticking points, a personal trainer is one of the best options. So, let’s go over some good times to get a trainer!
Just Staring Out
When you are just starting out and the gym is still some foreign land full of strange machines and even stranger people, it can be a little intimidating to get in there a work on your fitness. Getting a trainer is a great way to get acquainted with the equipment and the etiquette of the fitness facility. There is no better way to learn how to use the equipment and build exercise programs than with a fitness professional.
Hit a Plateau
You train on your own and love the results. You are doing everything right, but now it seems like your progress is slowing significantly or stopped altogether and you have no idea why. A trainer is a great option to work with you on mixing up your workouts and trying some new training styles to get your fitness back on track. A trainer will be familiar with many different styles of training and be proficient in a few. This is to keep the sessions interesting and to prevent plateaus.
Kicking Up Training
If you are an athlete, you are always looking for ways to give your training a little extra to give you the edge. That extra push can come from a trainer! You may need your training to be revamped. Or you may need that extra motivation to get you through the workout. Trainers are skilled in client motivation and think outside the box to provide cutting edge workouts!
Overall, getting a trainer is a smart option at any time of your training. We want to see our clients succeed in their goals and have great before and after pictures. If you are looking to get the most out of fitness and become the best physical version of yourself, then its easy; get a trainer!
